13. Client PortalUpdated: 8/24/2026

Send portal invitations to give your clients access to the Client Portal.

Sending a Portal Invitation

  1. Navigate to Clients from the sidebar.
  2. Select the client.
  3. In the client command center, open the People card.
  4. Click the contact you want to invite.
  5. Click Send Portal Invitation.
  6. Confirm the invitation.

The contact will receive an email with instructions to set up their portal account, including creating a password.

What the invitation email contains

The invitation email correctly identifies your MSP as the sender. The "Need Assistance?" section displays your MSP's support email and phone number, so clients know how to reach you if they have trouble accessing their account. Replies to the invitation email also route to your MSP's support address.

The support email and phone shown in the invitation email come from your Client Portal → Branding settings (under Settings → Client Portal). If those fields are not yet configured, the email falls back to your default client's location contact. Configure your support email and phone in branding settings before sending invitations to ensure clients always see the correct contact.

What Clients Can Do

Once invited, clients can:

  • View and create support tickets for their organization
  • Add comments and upload documents to tickets
  • View projects assigned to their organization (based on your visibility settings)
  • Request appointments with your team
  • View finalized invoices and billing information when their account has billing access
  • Invite additional users from their organization when their account has client-settings access

Managing Portal Users

Clients with appropriate permissions can invite additional users from their organization through Client Settings > User Management in the portal.

You can also manage client portal users directly:

  1. Navigate to the client's People card.
  2. View which contacts have portal access.
  3. Revoke access if needed by disabling portal access for specific contacts.

Portal User Permissions

Client portal users have role-based permissions that control:

  • Ticket creation and viewing
  • Project visibility
  • Billing access
  • User management capabilities
