7. DocumentsUpdated: 7/10/2026

From the Documents page, click + Upload, then drag and drop your files into the upload area or click Browse Files to select documents from your computer. The uploaded files will appear as individual cards on the Documents page.

Figure 1: The upload panel on the Documents page. Files can be dragged in or picked with Browse Files, and Associate With ties the upload to a client, contact, ticket, or other record.

Uploading files puts reference material into AlgaPSA so technicians and service managers do not have to search local folders or email threads. Common examples include screenshots, PDFs, network diagrams, vendor reports, exported logs, and client-provided instructions.

Use the central Documents page when the file should live in the document library first. If the file is tied to a specific ticket or contact, you can also upload it from that record's Documents area.

  1. Navigate to Documents from the sidebar.
  2. If the file belongs in a particular folder, open that folder from the Folders hierarchy first.
  3. Click + Upload.
  4. Optionally set Associate With so the upload is tied to the relevant client, contact, ticket, or project from the start.
  5. Drag and drop your files into the designated upload area, or click Browse Files to select documents from your computer.
  6. Wait for the upload to finish.
  7. Confirm that each uploaded file appears as an individual card on the Documents page.

After upload, the file is stored in AlgaPSA and appears as a document card. Depending on the file type, team members can preview it in AlgaPSA or download it for local use.

Operational tip: rename files before uploading when the original filename is vague. A name like "Northstar Accounting - VPN Error Screenshot" is more useful than "image001.png" when someone searches the library later. See Searching and Filtering Documents for ways to find uploaded files.
