6.7. View and Edit Project Tasks in the List View
Switch a project to the List view in AlgaPSA to see every phase and task in one table, edit status, priority, type, due date, assignee, and hours inline, and adjust column density and layout.
The List view is an alternative to the Kanban board that shows every phase and task in a single table. It is useful for scanning a whole project at once and for editing many tasks quickly without opening each one.
Switching to the List View
From a project's detailed view, use the view toggle in the top-right corner to switch between Kanban and List. Your choice is remembered the next time you open a project.
What the List View Shows
Tasks are grouped by phase, and within each phase by status. Each phase header shows its task count and completion percentage, and each status group can be expanded or collapsed.
Each task row can display the following columns:
- Name (with the task description beneath it)
- Status
- Priority
- Type
- Assignee (including any additional agents and an assigned team)
- Due Date
- Tags
- Estimated Hours and Actual Hours
- Checklist progress
- Dependencies
- Attachments
Editing Tasks Inline
You can change many task details directly from a row, without opening the full task dialog. Changes are saved automatically.
- Status, Priority, Type, and Due Date: Click the field in the row and choose a value from the dropdown (or pick a date).
- Assignee: Select a user or team directly in the row.
- Tags: Add or remove tags in place.
- Estimated Hours / Actual Hours: Click the value and type the new number of hours.
To edit everything about a task — including the description, checklist, dependencies, linked tickets, attachments, and comments — click the task name to open the full Edit Task dialog (see Edit Project, Phase, and Task Details).
Reordering and Moving Tasks
Hover over a task to reveal its drag handle, then drag the task to reorder it within a status, move it to a different status, or move it to another phase. Changing a task's status from the dropdown moves it to the matching status group automatically.
Adjusting the Table
- Spacing (zoom): Use the spacing control next to the view toggle to make rows more compact or more spacious. Compact spacing also fits more columns on screen; spacious fits fewer.
- Show all columns: When the window is narrow, lower-priority columns are hidden to avoid crowding. Click Show all to reveal every column (the table scrolls sideways), or Show less to return to the columns that fit.
- Resize columns: Drag the divider between two column headers to make a column wider or narrower. Double-click a divider to reset that column to its default width. Your column widths are remembered per project.
Searching and Filtering
Use the search box and filters in the toolbar above the list to narrow tasks by text, priority, tags, assignee, or team. The phase and status grouping updates to show only the matching tasks.
